Battery problems again, but different this time
Over the last couple of months I've had three issues where the car goes into limp mode and I get the usual warnings, easy reset just disconnecting negative, waiting the 20 mins and reconnecting, do the resets and all's fine.
Today twice I had something different, both times after just over an hours run I locked the car and after returning there's was just nothing, no start, no mirror movement, basically no electrics bar the radio and the Alfa badge on the dash.
First time I did the disconnect and waited a while, after reconnect all was fine and off I went, I stopped after an hour, as it happens , outside Meridien in Portsmouth, the chap I stopped to speak to was with a customer so I left after about 5 mins ( did look at a white Spider and a Brera S amount others), again nothing at all. Not wanting to let them get their hands on it I pulled the negative quick release off and straight back on, everything back to normal, didn't even need to do the resets.
The battery is supposedly tip top and all the connections feel solid, I'm thinking best to change the earth lead and check that connection is clean, that's the obvious one to look at first.
I'm always looking at the negative terminal side, not had the positive side off because it looks and feels solid so I suppose I'd better have the lot out next weekend.
Is there anything else you would suggest I'd check out ?
