Engine braking sound (159 2.2)

So a week ago i bought a 2006 159 2.2. It's been great so far but I noticed a wierd sound when i lift off the accelerator on 2nd gear. The best way I could describe it would be a whirring sound (rurururruru ) It isn't loud and stops under 2300 rpm.

So any ideas?

My 2007 159 2.2 is tuneful under engine braking at high revs. Not sure if it's the same noise, but I do it for fun: Foot flat on the floor in second up to 6000rpm. Foot off the go pedal and listen to it wind down. Loverly

159 2.2 JTS TI

I just (last weekend) bought a 2007 159 2.2 Ti and mine whines when I change down into second using engine breaking. Only 56k miles so I doubt the gearbox is knackered. I guess it's a "feature". In first and second under acceleration it sounds almost like it's supercharged!
