I have recently fitted 2 brand new Continentals to my 159 2.4.
After about 3,000 miles the outer edges have started to wear badly.
An attempt today at 4 wheel alignment threw up that the camber was out, as was the toe-in.
The toe-in was off the scale, and they managed to get it back to almost within tolerance, but according to the technician it wasn't possible to get it any closer. Camber is now spot on, just the toe-in is not.
The car does that "shimmy" from the rear on occasions, which am I right in thinking is worn bushes at the rear? Having searched on here and elsewhere, there isn't a powerflex option, as far as I can see.
What I want to know, is that "shimmy" from worn control arm bushes, meaning a new set of arms? I am only guessing from searches I have done. I can't seem to see any other replacement parts available. Would that be why it's also difficult to align the wheels as there is probably too much play in the set up with the worn parts?
Coil springs are fine, btw.
Not really sure of what to do, and at close to £300 for the tyres a month ago, I am slightly gutted.
