Steam blowing from under bonnet on coolant side.
Topped up coolant last weekend as it had dropped a bit since last time I checked it(around 3 months ago).
Hadn't used car for a few days, drove to work & all was well but when started up to clear screen etc on my return journey from work I noticed steam billowing out from under the bonnet on the passenger side (area of the coolant tank).
First thing I checked was the cap that i managed to budge a bit tighter that seemed to work & all was fine whilst the car was on the move, got me home & temp gauge sitting dead in 90c.
The only time it happened again was when stopping at the bottom of a hill when the was another puff.
After getting home checked the tank, most of the coolant had evaporated & I couldn't see any leaks, all seemed dry.
I had a job to remove the cap as it did not come of cleanly, topped the tank up then had a bit of a fight the get the cap back on as it seems to be a push & twist affair but did ensure it wasn't cross threaded as was sitting flush.
Took out for road test, ran up to temp & all seemed well but just been told by the missus it has happened to her when pulling up at traffic lights.
Haven't had a chance to check coolant level yet but has any 159/Brera owners had trouble with the coolant tank/cap that had led to steam billowing out?
Any thoughts kindly appreciated.
