Yesterday , when all suppliers would have been open just in case I'd need anything , I decided Saturday(today)would be my best bet to sort the brakes , seeing as the forcast was sunny and dry . Discs and EBC Yellow pads plus fitting kit had all arrived in the post on Thursday.
Wheels were a ' pig ' to get off though . I broke one socket trying to get the first bolt out so used the Alfa tool in the boot with a 4ft long steel tube , even then it was difficult but a snatch rather than push did it. I'd already bought a set of drifts ready to remove the calliper pins . They were a doddle , 1/4 in one to tap the pins level with the casting then an 1/8 th to follow them through. Screwdriver was all it took to push the pistons back flush and remove the pads. Squirt of WD around the disc retaining allen bolt then a short key with ratchet did that easily.
So --- now I was ready to undo the two calliper bolts , easy peasy I thought , seeing as I've got every spanner/socket known to man -- WRONG
Bloody torx bolts
The only torx I have are very small , the largest being for the head bolts on my race car , these are huge plus I've no clue what size to ask for , even if there was anywhere open
ANYONE KNOW what size these are ???
