Driving home this evening, about 20 miles, mainly motorway, engine obviously up to full operating temperature.
Stopped at the traffic lights near the end of the journey and I'm getting a fair amount of steam (I hope) or smoke billowing from the pipes. Air temperature about 2 degrees.
Drives perfectly, gauges all reading fine, no coolant loss, though I did notice the coolant down about a quarter of a pint around a month ago.
It hasn't needed topping-up since, but will check again tomorrow.
My fear is that it could be related to a lambda fault
When I last got it serviced I was told there was a P1161 code stored, though no one seems to know exactly what this relates to.
Don't know how long it'd been there, but was cleared and hasn't returned.
Would you expect to see a noticeable amount of steam/smoke from a fully warmed-up car on a cold night?
Tell me I'm paranoid and worrying about nothing!
