Re: 159 or GT?
for what its worth, the room in the back of a GT is fine, but its a bit closed in and not much fun for rear passengers, adults feel couped up and complain as they are looking inside the car, children have nothing to look at and complain anyway - family car has to be the 159.
Rear access is also limited, for those of less nimble disposition it could be a one way trip, once your in its hard to get out!
In terms of ride, despite being 156 based its definetly a better setup with more grip, but I think wheel choice affects ride quality, I have the 18" wheels and its definetly a bit bumpy.
Having said that, last two services, I had a 147 1.6 petrol which wallowed madly in comparison, and second service I had a 159 1.9 petrol which was ok but totally gutless compared to the diesel on the motorway I thought - although I may have been out of practice with Alfa revving technique.
Whats the story with no new 3.2 GT's then? Still listed on the Alfa website?
The 159TI with weight reduction and 210BHP 2.4 JTDm looks interesting, saw the press release related to world suprebike sponsorship but nothing else yet (bar rumours on here).
Wonder if the weight reduction for rest of 159 range will come at teh same time?
Friend of mine is looking to change his A3 3.2 to a A3 with back Diesel and the weight (ok its a smaller car) difference against 159 is massive compared to the Audi (and thats with 4wd on the Audi). Alfa need to sort out the weight one way or another...
