Inlet manifold a bit coked
A bit of a heads up where I am with my manifold de-swirlflap/EGR removal.
After a clean up I have the swirl flap blanks from DNA and the full EGR blanking plates from some other ebay merchant.
Doing cam belt and pump so made sense to do it all together.
The picture says it all but if thinking about disabling the EGR it wouldn't make much sense not to tackle this likely mess at the same time.
The head really should come off as the coke obviously continues down the ports. Undecided at the moment. Might just tackle with a rifler with some vacuum. Anyone gone there before?
One other thing is I must have spent as long cleaning parts of the engine you wouldn't normally have access to as doing the job itself, another reason for doing it yourself so long as you realise, certainly with the 5 pot it's all a bit tight but at the same time all doable.
