Poor MPG Problem or Normal
Apologies as I'm sure this is a frequent question.
I know real world driving never delivers the manufacturer's quoted combined, but I am concerned that my wife's 159 SW 170 JTDM Ti has a problem
Monday to Thurs the car does a 40 mile round trip of which 25 miles is on the motorway at less than 70 mph. The rest of the time the car does potter about on fairly short journies of less than 5 miles. Currently the computer is suggesting 35 MPG and dropping. The same journies in her previous 2 cars (civic Type s 2.2D and Leon FR 170 D ) got 42-44mpg.
More concern though about a recent trip from Manchester to Ipswich which was just over 200 miles on A1 and A14 at 60 - 65 mph when I managed just 46 MPG. ( my 330d does 54MPG on the same journey and its a 3ltr!)
The brakes are not binding.
Is this just the price we have to pay to drive the best looking estate money can buy or should I be looking at cleaning the EGR or MAF sensor or something else?
If this is normal the boys and girls with the V6 must have very deep pockets!
Thanks in advance
