Battery charger

Hello, I seem to have an issue with something draining my battery on the 159. Occasionally the car can be left 2 weeks in between uses and sometimes the car won't start due to flat battery. I had a new battery a year ago which I thought fixed the problem but I had to have the home start rescue round yesterday to jump start the car. I think it's time to invest in a battery charger. Would either of these be suitable? Both to charge the car or start the car from flat?

Cheers . Merry Christmas!

Yep, worth looking at the Optimate and the CTEK range as mentioned by previous poster.:

those chargers probably won't start the car if the battery is flat - you typically need about 500amps to start the engine but those chargers will only have about 150amps. a cheap trickle charger will be just as effective, you can even get reasonable ones that plug into the cigarette lighter for convenience.

From experience at the dealership I work for, the desulphating fase is the most valuable part of the charger. We've saved quite a few batteries that were abused before and that the midtronics battery testers deemed for the recycling bin (before being charged by the optimate ampmatic 6 that is).

Consider disconnecting your battery when the car is stood.....and see this video, you seem to have a parasitic draw on the battery.
