Torque Limited in 1st and 2nd Gear ?
New to Alfa ownership ( wishing we had done it years ago) so apologies for the multiple questions/threads
My wifes car is a 2011 159 SW Ti 170JTDM and seems to lack some urge in 1st and 2nd compared to 3rd, 4th etc. I appreciate that Diesels do there best in the higher gears, but having owned many Diesels in the past ( 330D BMW, Honda 2.2, VW 150PD etc ) Ive never noticed such a difference between in gear performance 2nd compared to 3rd 4th etc.
Previously on an Honda forum several of the techy members often referred to remaps which would limit torque in 1st and 2nd gear (I was sceptical about this as I couldnt understand how this could be done )
I'm wondering whether Alfa have done this to help with traction and tyre wear? or is it just the weight of the 159 SW that makes this really noticeable
