Re: Brera / Spider V6 16 mpg!
At what average speed are you getting your quoted mileage? Being a convertable, you will encounter significantly higher drag at higher speeds with the roof down and slighthly higher with the roof up; that may have some impact on the figure you are seeing. Also, the Spider is slightly heavier than the Brera too.
Just a thought.
Good point - living within the South East of England - I don't think speed is a problem. I can not see any difference in mgp with the roof up or down.
I was speaking about this to my dad last night (he's an engineer) and he reckons you'd be hard pushed to get near any manufacturer's claimed mpg on any car.
Agree with you, but a drop of 30-40% is too much. If you compare with other cars some of my friends got V8's with 300-400 horsepowers and they are getting more out of the car then I am.
Did a 20 mile run on M4 where I turned off all the gadgets. No radio, no light, no air con and more important, drove like I had an egg between my foot and the throttle. Did not use the brake at all and rpm was close to nothing most of the time around 2500. I was able to get 16.6 mpg! Top speed on my test run was at most 55 miles.
Ok you dont purchase a V6 and expect it not to use fuel. Brera / Spider V6 is a new car it got a got a new top of the rage engine. It should do better! If not Alfa got a big problem!
Alfa Spider, 3.2 JTS, Carbonio Black, Red Leader, all options...
