CJ - i find

a) Staggering you can get 38mpg tootling this big lump around the shops
b) only 5mpg more on the motorway ?

Something doesn't stack up there...

What's your definition of around town ?

Thats the answer to our mpg issues, the space saver wheel. Still I'm impressed that even at 50mph you got 62mpg.

Yeh, suspect starting with a warm engine also makes a huge difference, was only 26miles. Theoretically the narrower tyres fitted on the Lusso etc should also reduce the mpg.

I really thought the mpg would be higher than you guys are saying but I suppose it make sense as the 159 is a bit on the heavy side.

On my 2.4 210 I get around 40 - 45 Mpg average, found some interesting tips whilst peaking at the instant consumption. If I put it in sixth on a B round @ 50 / 60 the MPG bottoms out so keep it in 5th until a motorway.. Get to speed as soon as you can and don't boot it until it's warmed up.

I'm happy with the MPG from mine, then again it's just had 2K spent on it. So I suppose that might have something to contribute.
