Un-Diagnosable problem. Please help.
I have a 159 2.4 JTDm and i was cruising along a freeway doing around 130km/h, nothing was wrong and i was driving for around 40minutes prior to anything happening until i put my foot down to notice a small misfire and the power dropping so far to the point that the car completely stopped. Tried turning the car off and on and of course nothing, power was still there, however the car just wouldn't kick over.
Road side assistance came, (not Alfa roadside) so of course they had no idea what was the cause, as there were no prior signs to the issue. Checked the fuel, it was fine, checked oil, it had it.
Finally towed it to an Alfa specialist garage where a diagnostic scan was undertaken, and nothing was found. So its not electronic. I proposed it could've been the injectors or fuel pump, mechanic doesn't believe so especially after the car was trying its hardest to kick over but just wouldn't get to that final click. Then i figured it could be the EGR Valve or DPF? However, the mechanic has reason to believe that its turbo related considering when he moved the valve, he found a significant amount of oil there.
My reasoning for disagreeing is that if it were turbo related, then wouldn't the car still start but just lag on take off etc?
Open to thoughts here, cheers in advance.
