Is it my immobiliser
After a fault free 6months (DPF removed!) a number of dashboard lights have suddenly come on followed by a message 'Your Vehicle Protection System' is disconnected'. On trying to re start engine dead but lights, boot release, sun roof, windows etc., all still working.
The first light to come on was a 'Driving Wheel' with a key underneath it, then a message to say the hill stopping system was off, then the orange triangle in a circle on the left binnacle.
However, after stopping and leaving for 5 minutes all lights off and started as usual.
Other circumstances are it all started after a very heavy frost. Local garage immediately said battery problem and replaced battery. (The car is a 57 with 60k and the battery was the original 'Ricambi' so was definitely a possible culprit). However problem happened again today with same sequence.
I think it could be some sort of issue with the 'Immobiliser' but the real problem is that no default 'codes' have shown up on the computer screen on both occasions so we are all a bit baffled and dont know where to start to look for any fault
