Electronics cutting out

Hi All,

I'm having issues with my Alfa Romeo 159 2.4 jtd 2006

It seems I was and maybe still having earth issues.

I ran a new lead from the battery terminal to the engine

This seemed to fix my issues for a week or so, but now it's cutting out again.

Motor doesn't stall but all electrics go dead and error messages come up.

Occasionally the battery light comes on.

I had the battery checked and was advised there is no problem. Cranking is very normal too.

Tested the alternator too. Voltage 13.1-13.4 seems a bit low to me but my Alfa specialist says they don't charge when they don't have to. In all my previous cars the voltage was 14-14.5.

Is my alternator fault?

Thanks in advance for any opinions.

think it solved...no new alternator required ....new earth strap ....cleaned every connection i could find whether it looked dirty or not....13.7 consistently now.even with stereo on decent volume....which has two very large alpine amps quite capable of draining peaks of 200 A.

happy me thinks as been 9 days with no issues....
stupid earth problems...

It's nearly always a dodgy. Cheap fix.
