Well, that's the Spider all tucked up in the garage for the winter. Miss it already!
So my question: does anyone actually SORN their vehicles for the winter months? I'm not sure how easy it is to do - but with the road tax becoming so ludicrously expensive, I'm now wondering if it's worth it.
I guess I'm fortunate to have a choice of vehicles at all, but the Spider is only coming out after the winter!
Why not claim it back? Better in your pocket than the anyone else's should be able to claim for the refund online or failing that by getting the SORN form from the Post Office I think (I might be wrong but I'm sure someone will correct me if I am)
Useful stuff, chaps. Thank you. I wonder if it's worth letting the insurers know it's off the road over-winter too? I'm far too cynical to expect a rebate, but next time I quote I'll be sure to mention it!
I still haven't done it. I just realised that there's usually an Alfa run to the coast on New Year's day in my neck of the woods. Be a shame to miss out - but it's a pretty expensive journey if I keep the car taxed all year round.....! Hmmmmm......
With the new tax-disc-less system you can SORN for a few months and then stick it back on for a month and then SORN it again easily with little extra cost - as long as you work to full moths. You can even set it up by phone.
