I still have a bit of this, so I really feel for you. Have you bypassed the DPF? i had, but I put a DPF on that still had the CAT part functioning, it helped, but I ended up taking it to a garage to try and get to the bottom of it. I'm not sure what they did, nor were they, it's a lot better, but I still generally use recirc. I know they were talking about vents in the boot, whether there were any and if they could be blocked off. I couldn't pick up any smells in the engine bay, it all seemed to be at the exhaust tips.
Thing is mine started smelling straight after remap and DPF removal, way too much of a coincidence for me that. I like the car, but it's taught me an expensive lesson-don't mess with the map, caused sooo many problems.
If I was you, I'd try and get a second hand dpf off ebay, fit it and see if helps the smell, obviously you'll have to remove again if you've had the dpf function deleted, but then you could just try drilling a couple of cm of the dpf bit out and refit. Horrible isn't it.
