Good day to you all......
Firstly I'm Ian based in Oxfordshire with my new found Alfa 159 JTDM with 60k on the clock, finished in Black.
I've had her all of 24hrs and with the fear of Alfa ownership I've got an oil leak already. It was a private sale and whilst I'm sure an engine of this age, an oil leak from something major isn't likely to be. I'm aware the car has just been serviced, so my presumption is a loose sump plug or filter, or possibly some corrosion on the oil cooler, but she's going straight in the garage tomorrow for a full check over and diagnosis. Hopefully nothing major, but a good way to start Alfa life.
This is my first ever diesel car and first ever automatic, as she's going to be used for the motorway routes on a daily basis, so I expect to put some serious miles on her.
Current daily car until "Wendy" came along (sorry but I name all my cars) is Suzi. Suzi has been owned for some 4 and a half years and she's due to go through a heart transplant in January. Myself and Suzi have been on the 350z-uk forum since ownership and I've spent far too much money on her to the point she's in her final stages of completion.
She will be off the road January till May to have a C6 V8 LS3 Corvette engine installed. So Wendy is going to be my resource for the daily commute and weekend trips.
Attached a pic of them both looking rather cool.
I'm sure I'll be reading up more now that I'm registered and keeping tabs with the basic upgrades with pads, rotors and potential suspension upgrades. It's a bit of a shock coming from the sharp handling of my 350z to the 159, so some slight suspension upgrades will be investigated.
Can't wait to eat the miles in luxury, wafting and being pleasantly relaxed getting to work ha ha.
