I get 42-45 mpg from my GT quite easily. However, the GT is quite a fragile car in some areas and you will get better build quality from the Brera. In fact, the money saved in fuel for the GT, you may end up spending in repair bills over the Brera.
My GT has cost me £1500 over the last 9months, with issues including clutch -failed at 42k - Was told this mileage was typical of the standard clutch, suspension wishbones, anti-roll bar issues, both driver and passenger door handles breaking on the outside, and the folding seat for the drivers mechanism also suffered from a snapped cable.
Car has a full service history, 58 reg and has only done 50k and I do look after it. I'd have probably got the Brera if I could buy again....
