From 1.9 JTDm to 1.75 TBi Ti - Is it really a good idea?
I am a member since 2010 and introduced myself then. Use the AO quite often now need an advice on this.
Now I own a 2009 159 1.9 JTDm Qtronic with 125k km on the clock. It has a remap (egr-dpf delete done locally) Really happy with the ride but started making expected noises, power loses and trowing more money after 125k.
I live in Turkey. Here 1 lt diesel is 1,17 GBP and 1 lt petrol is 1,32 (%15 more expensive). I do around 20k kms per year, half in heavy traffic half motorways.
I can swap my car with a 2012 1.75 TBi TI Pack (manuel gbox) with 34k on the clock, full service history by just paying 600 GBP more. (Here my car is 16600 vs. TBi is 17200, both GBP)
Using one of the most expensive fuels in the world we are quite concerned and sensitive with fuel consumption, hence the discount on the TBi. It is no easy to sell the TBi here but the JTDm sells in the blink of an eye.
Now have been given a company car to use during weekdays so I expect to be doing 10k kms in total a year.
What should I do? Would love to try the TBi and rewinding the clock 91k kms is very tempting but I could not decide because of its consumption.
Would be great to receive your inputs...
