Replace 159 rear seats with 60/40 folding seats

Hi guys,

This is my first post in the 159/Brera lounge and I am currently looking for a 159. I currently own a GT and a 147 as my daily drive and it has always been useful to fold the rear seats for additional space. Now from what I have read only the Ti saloon has rear folding seats. I was wondering if it is possible to put rear folding seat from a sportwagon to a regular saloon?

My 57 plate has no folding seats, told it was an option when purchasing

I have to take wife's Seat Mii if I need to carry anything bulky.

That's annoying. The 06 2.2 jts I looked at a couple years ago did, so I guess it's an option? Anyone know if retrofitting the folding seats is a simple bolt in job?

My '06 2.2 jts Luso doesn't have folding rear seats (only a ski hatch). It was an option.

My 06 2.4 has, so must have been a option choice when new.

+1 bloody marvellous it is too!!! In fact going down to the car to see if my MTB will go in without putting the roof bars back on which I only took off yesterday..

I'll have a look on parts thing, hang on.

Only the back of the seat folds in the saloon, I'm assuming it's the same for the estate. You'd need to go to an alfa breakers and ask or go to a dealers and check to see if the part numbers are the same, then check you have mounting points for the bottom hinges and see what needs to be done to the parcel shelf...

Thank you for your feedbacks . The easiest solution is to look for a 159SW instead as I assume nobody has retrofitted one before.

Standard on some trim specs but option on others, since day 1.

I believe there's some cross members and such like to play with,
not just the seats.

Also the centre seatbelt is integrated into the seat on the folding ones
and comes out the parcel shelf on the fixed ones, so a new parcel shelf
would be needed to make it look "OEM".

I took folding seats from a TI saloon and fitted them into my SW. They are the same size so can be retrofitted. I'm now selling the black leather folding seats that were originally in my Lusso SW if anybody with a saloon wants folding seats. Not sure about the parcel shelf differences on the saloon though
