Massive Light Bulb Confusion!!! Please Help
So, I drive a 159, 2.4 JTDM Lusso (with HID/Xenon headlamps)
I recently noticed that my reverse light wasn't lighting up, and neither was the tail/stop light on the same holder. Fuses checked, all ok. Then I switched the bulb holders from left to right. Now the problem was on the opposite side. So naturally I assumed then that the bulb holder was to blame. But then looking at the bulb holder I thought to myself, how on earth could there be a problem with this. It's only a bit of plastic with various bits of metal connecting to each other to make circuits to the bulbs, and it all looked straight, no bends in the metal or bits out of place.
So, long story here sorry, I started switching the bulbs over between sides (still just between the inner rear clusters) in various different combinations and I noticed that the 380 stop/tail bulbs work fine on both sides when they're inserted the wrong way round, but the pins on them are offset so they wont lock in the wrong way round. But they wont work when locked in place the correct way round, and now the stop/tail bulb on the drivers side wont work when locked in the correct way round with either of the bulb connectors (left/right), which it did before I started messing with it. The fog works fine but I still can't get the reverse to light up.
What the **** is going on!
The bulbs all look fine, no broken filaments. Are the pins supposed to be offset? Have I got the wrong bulbs here?
If anyone could shed some light (no pun intended) on this then please, your help is much appreciated.
I've attached a photo of the suspects.
In the middle are the stop/tail 380 bulbs
On the outer are the reverse/fog 382 bulbs
