Dexydog (which comes out as 'sexy dog' on auto correct!), unfortunately the salesman didn't tell me what the owner did when I called back; that I could have paid a £500 desposit to hold it whilst I went away. The sales lad said any deposit was non-refundable and that if i didn't complete within a certain time limit the deposit would be lost. I know Intaservices are very busy at the moment so didn't want to pay a deposit that I might lose if they couldn't do the work in time. It just so happens dave from Intaservices was out when I called to speak to him, so it took longer than hoped to get back to them. When I was told that I COULD have left a returnable £500, well, it rubbed salt in the wound!
Finally, really didn't intend the post that opened this thread to be "aggressive", and to be honest I can't see how it was (unless the person who bought the car is on here!), but fair dos, I'll keep the venting of my dissapointment to myself if it's not considered appropriate for here.
Ps, this is not a criticism of Intaservices by any means; great garage with great service! Don't want to upset anyone else today.........!
Ah right I see.
Well in that case, it just reinforces my thoughts about garages.
In my experience, when I go to buy a car, I have done my research and 9 times out of 10 can tell the salesman more about the product they are selling.
Funnily enough, my 2 most recent experiences have been with Alfa garages, and without doubt they were the best experiences I have had by far.
I can heartily recommend Sturgess- must be somewhere near you?
Ask for Amy she was really good.
Ps your initial post was fine, I think you just took Lussoman's post a little personally.
However, let's all move on.
I'm currently looking to buy another Alfa, and have decided I won't discard any model, so lurking on here and in particular the gtv section.
Having owned a mito-very briefly, another story, I reckon an Alfa has that certain something and can't kick the bug!
