Just like to say did 200 miles over the weekend in my be_loved Alfa 2.4 drove lovely on m25 no problems and got 45 mpg. Not bad with 4 up and luggage doing 70_80 mph. Included 30 non M/w and stuck at tunnel for 10 mins. Only mod blanked egr.

I always get confused with the MPG figures - where I'm from we usually talk liters/100 km :) I usually get around 8.2 liters/100 KM. My record on one tank so far is around 930 KM (Lübeck-Stockholm), and then the light came on as I hit rush-hour traffic and eventually almost ran out of fuel :cheese: could've probably driven some 20-40 KM more.

My 2.4 is modified by Adie plus suspension mod's and will do around 33 mpg running to the local shops or local friends , 2 to 4 miles away . A decent run gets me 40 to 45 mpg depending on traffic and motorway to A/B road ratio. If motorway then it's at 60 to 90 mph range. Still manages 33 mpg towing a Minno trailer plus 575kgs car.

You're all lucky. I live in South Devon, lots of twisty a roads, some dual carriageways and I'm getting under 30MPG and i'm seriously not flooring it.
Haven't had EGF/DPF done yet, but am considering it. Just don't know where to start to try and improve that damned MPG.

My figures are following service including new air filter and a clean out of the throttle body and blanking the egr. But I did notice computer only says 30 mpg when i,m using the gearz in town driving.
These cars are ppoor around town 30 is aboutright iI believe the car is quite heavy.

To convert MPG to L/100km you divide into 282. Same the other way round, so 28 MPG is 10.07 L/100 km. For the 159 2.4 auto the specified combined fuel use is 8.0 L/100km which is 35.3 MPG. This does not work in the USA where a gallon is 3.79L as opposed to the imperial gallon which is 4.545L.
Hope this is interesting for some.

+1 to that ... just moved house and on a 60 mile round trip daily commute from Croston to Trafford Park, doing a Brim to Brim in an unmodified 2.4 Brera ... £92.33 for 70 litres of Shell ... lets see how far it takes me.

Personally I think the fuel gauge is useless!!
