When I bought my Brera, I thought the 17" rims looked too small and they were scuffed up a bit, so I bought some new 18" rims. I read as many reviews and comparisons as I could find and ended up with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2s (£133) for the new rims. On the old 17" rims, I put Nokian WR D3s winter tyres (£85). My plan is to change tyres in, say, November.
I like the Goodyears a lot and they are wearing well, but haven't run the Nokians yet. When I change tyres, I will have a four-wheel alignment as the rims are a different size, which is a bit of a nuisance, but I suppose has to be done.
Also, I'll rotate the tyres. The Goodyears are non-directional, so left front will go to right rear, etc. But the Nokians are directional, so I'll just move the fronts to the back when our long snowy, icey winter is over. (I did wonder if I even needed winter tyres, but what else to do with the rims. I mean, I'll have to put them on the car when/if I ever sell it. The 18" rims are non-Alfa.
For prices, you might look at TyreLeader. They seemed to offer the best prices when I bought in February.
