Well I got my hand in there and there was no play that I could feel, can you see the blade that is at the top in the picture, looks to me like a crack / dent or something?
Mikey Bit of a silly question depending on how you look at it! But if you haven't heard then you should definitely know!
All cars fitted with a DPF as standard (from the manufacturerer) MUST have one to pass an MOT, it costs me less money to get a new EGR and part blank it , than it would for the map to get rid of it completely, the DPF in this car hadn't caused a single problem for 7 years (155000 miles) so really wasn't that much of a problem but all things have a lifespan!
Unfortunately removing the DPF either by fitting a straight pipe or removing the internals from the box is classed as an illegal mod, and That won't go down well on the insurance (it's on a company insurance, I would get the kick if something happened and they found that out!)
But I have to say.
Another thing when I opened up as much as I could get to today, a lot of oily grimy stuff on the pipe coming out of the turbo, couldn't get down there to see if anything was loose as that's a ramp job.
