Buying a Brera
I 've finally decided to sell my 147 and 156 and buy a more modern Alfa.
At first I was looking for a GT, then a 159 but seeing the how low prices on Breras are, I think it's a no brainer.
Taxes have changed in Cyprus and favor sub-200g CO2 cars, so a 2.4 JTDm SV is the only option.
I have a budget of around 6-6.5K GBP, since I will also be shipping it to Cyprus and have to account for taxes, shipping, registration etc.
Now, I've read the buyers guide and all that, but since I am a bit far away and Breras are few and far between, I need some help in some details.
First, the 2007 and 2008 models have the same engine (210Bhp) but the 2008 is lighter right?
Also the buyers guide mention that 2008 models have 4-pot Brembos. What do the 2007 models have?
Second I am a bit troubled in the fact that private sales start from 5.5K (I've even seen some as low as 4K) and dealers have them from 8K or more. In my case a dealer is more preferable due to the certification (warranty is useless for me) but 3K is a lot of difference, especially if we factor the euro exchange rate.
Any helpful insights?
