First of all I apologise for starting another tyre thread but I have read through all those I could find which were relevant.
OK, so at the moment I have Nankang AS-1's on the front and Accelera PHI's on the rear (Its what was on when I bought it) The fronts were brand new and the rears were not... the rears are now getting very low and need replacing.
I will not be able to afford to replace all 4 at the moment so will move the Nankangs to the rear and get something better for the front.
The question is, what?
There are a lot of different opinions on what I should do, I don't really want to go as cheap as the Acceleras, although the Nankangs have been perfectly fine in the near year I've had the 159.
I have loaded up every webiste I've seen recommended and have a few options, I'm looking for more advice on the long term running of them, have seen a few get good write ups on here but nothing very recent.
I will not be able to afford Conti's or Pirrelis so don't bother suggesting them unless they can be bought for similar price to those I'm looking at.
*Also, I've seen some people going for 245 rather than 235. The 245's seem to be cheaper, but what are the real world differences?
The options so far in 235 are....
Tyre Uniroyal Rain Sport 3 235/40 R19 96Y XL - Tyre Leader
Vredestein Ultrac Vorti 235/40¬*R19 96 Y XL FSL tyre ‚€“ summer car tyres sold
- a little over my budget but look good.
Tyre Nankang AS-1 235/40 ZR19 96Y XL - Tyre Leader
- look very cheap
Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2 K117 235/40¬*R19 96 Y XL MFS tyre ‚€“ summer car tyres sold
- these are recommended by the site
In 245 -->
Tyre Sonar SX-2 245/40 ZR19 98Y XL - Tyre Leader
- very cheap, not bad grip rating
Tyre Nexen N'Fera SU1 245/40 R19 98Y XL - Tyre Leader
Uniroyal Rainsport 3 245/40¬*R19 98 Y FR XL tyre ‚€“ summer car tyres sold
- good recommendations
Tyre Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta 245/40 ZR19 98Y XL - Tyre Leader
- again, good recommendations
You can see im a bit lost... all of these have very similar grip and efficiency ratings.
What are the wear rates, I cannot afford to be changing the tyres after 8k miles, I do not drive hard so they should last reasonable well.
