Help! Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit - Dust cover?

Hello peeps,

My first thread!

First of all, allow me to say how ressourceful this forum can be! What a great community!

Ok, back to my issue now

I've just ordered the B12 Pro-Kit. It's on its way

While browsing this forum, I stumbled on a post whereby the author had some issues replacing the B6 front shocks as the dust covers from the original shocks didn't fit. Now forgive my ignorance, but i'm assuming that the B12 kit has B6 front shocks.

Link for the dust cover to be replaced;
Alfa Romeo Shop - Tuning, Styling, Fanartikel und Modellautos - Staubschutzsatz Sto?d?mpfer - Vorderachse Staubschutzsatz Sto?d?mpfer - Vorderachse R0753006

So considering that quite a few of you here have already swapped for B12, did you also had to change to new dust covers or modify them?

Thanks a lot guys

I guess you are referring to my post. If so, the problem isn't that bad as I originally thought.

The link you provided shows the stock dust cover kit. The main problem with mine was that I was missing the white plastic bit that was used to attach the bump stop to the strut bearing. So I had to get a new set of dust covers.

Other than that, there's another plastic bit that fits over the shock absorber body and is used to stop the dust cover from slipping too low. This bit won't fit over the B6s, as they are thicker than the stock shocks. You can use a zip tie to hold the cover in place or, as other folks on this forum suggested, you can just leave the cover dangling - shouldn't be a problem.

Good luck!
