I'm in my 9th month with my 3.2 and after the issues with early ownership eventually being traced to a duff dual mass flywheel (gearbox, diffs, clutch, driveshafts all replaced)... I still have a number of niggles that are dulling my ownership experience...
both seats rock
rattle in drivers door (have a new door trim on order for the last 2 months)
boot cover hinges are not attached to car. (this may be boot rattle).
paintwork in boot badge recess is damaged by badge
itermittent failure of boot button in centre console
remote button is tempramental.
Odd induction noise when car is hot
I've a lovely quarter inch "stonechip" on the bonnet...
I'm going to start pushing Mango's again after a 6 week lull...
On the plus side
The gearbox is loosening up nicely - the clunky gearchange only happens very occasionally... and getting less often as time goes by.
MPG sits at between 22 and 24.5 depending if I'm doing longer or shorter runs.
I get so many smiles, thumbs up, and second glances from people who see the car especially around BMW dealers
And above all I love driving her - but am getting very tempted with doing a deal on a spider next year. Especially as My PCP is based on much lower residuals than are predicted - it may very well be worth changing....
