My 159 Blue & Me has given problems from day one (I've had my 159 SW 11 weeks now and 7500 miles later with no mechanical problems). The in-coming reception is first class and the sound from the stereo speakers is excellent. The problem is my transmitting reception at the callers end. Every caller I speak to complains that I sound like I am in the bottom of an oil drum with a constant piercing squeeky noise in the back ground.
The car has been back to the dealer 3 times, the first time the dealer couldn't do enough to try and put things right. Then they realised this was not going to be an easy fix, The second time, the car was in the garage all day, when I collected it they said they had received a list of phones compatible with the system and I was using the wrong one.... as it happened I had tried 3 phones on the car, Nokia N70, 6210i and a 6230i. Strangely all these phones were compatible and that threw a spanner in the works. The third time they tried a software update, the car already the latest version, so no change.
Three weeks went by, no communication from the dealer. When I called to complain they 'thought' the repair had been solved and the job had been closed. That left only one thing to do...phone AR customer care. Within hours the MD of the dealership called, the Service Manager called and the receptionist called all with marvelous apologies.
They have now spoken with AR Italy who have advised them that cars had left the factory with microphones wired wronly. So my dealer has now ordered a new microphone.... as an ex mechanic, I would have thought that was an obvious thing to do!!
So here I am waiting for a new mic and my problem is yet to be solved.
So, Dave the chemist, if you had been a dentist I would have been asking you to extract and replace my Bluetooth!!!!
