Alfa Brera

Brera no more

Just a thanks for the warm reception received on the forum but after 8 weeks of Alfa ownership the Brera is in the hands of its new owner today .
Nothing wrong with the car but just not for me
Maybe after 25+ german cars in as many years i'm a lost cause

Surprised me that nobody here spotted it in the classifieds but maybe no one was looking ?

Anyhow had quite a bit of interest as well as the usual timewasters .
Managed to get back what i paid so can't complain

Happy times to you all & i will still view them with great style

Audi A6 Avant / family taxi
Astravan / weekday necessity
Alfa Brera / weekend treat

Your probably the first person to own an Alfa & not loose out when moving on, so top marks for that.

Also what didn't you like about it?

The 3.2 would of probably been better for you as a first impression

Well, you gave it a go.

Some time in the future you'll be able to say I owned a gorgeous Alfa Brera
and people will give you appreciative murmurs and respect.

8 weeks?
I'm amazed you made your mind up about it so quickly and have got rid already.
At the very least I thought it'd put others off viewing, thinking there was a major issue due to it being up for sale again so soon.
You've done well to get your money back!

Has it gone to someone in Lancs again?
And what will replace it?

Alfa Brera

i'm certainly not going to slag the car because it did no wrong but a mixture of circumstances raised the final curtain .
!)Whilst the car had no smoke, squeeks, rattles, knocks or faults & the cabin was a fantastic place to sit i always felt there was a "fragility" to it that if pushed could be easily exposed ?

2) my son recently went away for 2 weeks & his car being in front of the garage was easier to take .
A MK5 Golf GTi that cost 1500 less , has covered 30k more yet once on the road felt like i could fill it with fuel & head to the Med with supreme confidence i would get there

3) The Brera is a car i have considered many times in the last 5 years but prices always put me off .
In the meantime i had many performance cars (all german) & i just think the drop in BHP to 185 was too much after having 250 flat 6 / 300 flat 6 /345 V8 /265 straight6 /250 V6

I have tried it & have no regret's but doubt i would buy another & that could well be my loss but as individual's we have to do what feel's right .

46 yrs old now & looking back brings 2 cars to mind that i would gladly buy back & 1 i wouldn't although i consider it THE best all rounder i am likely to own . A 645Ci on a 55 plate that was just way way too problematic but did everything you could ever want .

Best wishes Alfa fan's
