It was the DMF and a full gearbox rebuild. £2180. And only 18 months/two years and under 15000 miles since the last one. All the bearings were pitted and the end floats were badly worn and had allowed the lay gears to crash together.
Its a big worry but its had the best build it could have this time with the highest quality components. Devon and cornwall transmissions rebuilt it and Cluch Master in Totnes in an LUK DMF which everyone recommend as being the best, all while I was on holiday. They leant us a courtesy car so our holiday could continue.
They said, as we all know, that the gearboxes are not what they should be but they said after this rebuild they were confident that we should get another 60000 miles out of it.
Looking at the kit they have to rebuild them I have to hope there right.
