2006 159 2.2 JTS knocking
I've had my car for a little over a year now and ever since I have had it, there has been a knocking when I go over bumps. The knocking is getting worse now and I want to fix it. I think it is coming from the front although I find it difficult to tell and it could be coming from the back as well or in addition to.
I always thought that the knocking was the suspension bushes and I understand from reading other threads that it is likely to be the upper front ones. I have also heard that it is possible that it is the engine mounts, although I don't believe that this is the case. Is there anyway to confirm what is actually wrong and that it is only the upper front suspension bushes that need doing? I have tried pushing and pulling on the wheels and the corner of the car but I can't recreate the knocking and the car sails through MOT's so the fault isn't obvious unless you drive the car.
Assuming that it is the front suspension bushes, am I best getting a local mechanic to fix it or going to AutoLusso. I am based in Chelmsford so Autolusso isn't far but far enough not to want to drive back and forth very often.
Any advise would be appreciated.
