1.9JDTm Rough when cold
My 159 has developed a problem, 99% when stone cold, and 1% when running.
When you first start the car it idles quite rough, as if it's missing one cylinder every X amount of revs, and the throttle response is a bit 'laggy' - as soon as there's 2 mins of heat in the engine is stops completely.
The only other time it plays up (I'm assuming it's the same problem) is when I'm on a super-light throttle load, as when driving down a slight downhill, and it seems to hiccup and hesitate occasionally.
I've cleaned the EGR, and have a restrictor plate in place, which I thought was the problem, but that made it neither better nor worse.
My local Ex-alfa specialist says it may be the swirl-valves in the inlet - he reckons they're either FUBAR or one may be wedged behind a valve causing low compression (££££)
It's in the shop on Tuesday for rear brakes, the specialist is going to have the injectors out and compression test to see if I'm out of pocket for the next few months, but is there anything else, like a MAF, MAP, EGR, DPF etc etc that could be causing a bit of 'off running'?
