Brera tuning

Has anyone experienced any of the remaps available for the Alfa 2.4 5 cylinder diesel engine? I think they are supplied (for the Brera at least) by Angel Tuning, Celtic Tuning and Novitec (although not so sure about the Novitec Brera bodykit...) and seem to give an extra 30-50bhp. Any thoughts/comments as to whether they are worth it?

Re: Brera tuning

Some have or are considering it. Certainly those that have had it done on the 156 thought it was wonderful.

Reduces it as you will drive faster. But under normal driving it will be around the same and in some cases slightly improve.

However in the real world, with more power comes a heavier right foot and so your consumption will drop. Especially in the diesel where the gains are much higher than in the petrol cars.

i had mine done at alfatune 6 months ago, and my mpg if anything has gone up very slightly. the alfatune one involves removing the dpf and fixing the egr valve shut, as well as the remap. celtic etc will be just the remap which may be asking for trouble with your dpf at a later date

as paul says, there are BIG gains to be had on the diesels

Brera 2.4JTDM

Had my brera done by angel tuning this week and couldn't be happier. Just done a tank and even with the excitement of the extra grunt still managed to get more than normal driving without the remap and dpf removal. Once the heavy right foot wears off i'll be hoping to get more fuel efficiency but for now the power is awesome.

My 2.4 jtdm has been remapped (+ dpf removal+EGR disable). Lots of ino on the forum about merits of various remap routes, pros & cons, fuel consumption effects, regen impact etc etc. Without dpf removal then regens will continue to keep it clear - can knock thefuel consumption gains a bit.
