what's the exact error code that it is exhibiting?
Is it that the pressure detected is off, or is it not detecting the EGR, in which case I would be looking at the plug for the EGR, if it's been on and off a bit, it could have disconnected one of the contacts.
In MES you can go to actuators and you should be able to select the EGR and then hear it click.
You can also measure the voltage to the EGR (think i have read it should be 5v)
Think the following are relevant:
P0401 : EGR insufficient flow detected (EGR flow is lower than expected (often caused by blanking!
P0403/4/5: EGR signal. resistance too high ( could be break in the wires)
