Spider roof hydraulic issues
This is my first post so go easy on me, it could be a long one. I bought a spider a few months ago and love it to bits. However the roof/hood has an intermittent Alfa charm which concerns me. Before I bought the car I joined the forum as they're full of useful info but unfortunately I can't find anything much relating to my specific issue.
More often than not the roof will open fine, unless the car has been running for a while. We've never had an issue closing it yet. Sometimes when I first get in the car (without operating the roof) and every time after the closing cycle complete message is displayed I get another message "Hood mechanism failure. Consult owner handbook" which sound horrendous and the handbook just refers you to the garage. Whichever way I've missed the sun a few times as a result.
Not one to accept defeat lightly and always looking for a cheaper solution I've trawled this forum and google without much luck. When it works, the hood cycles at normal speed but I've checked the hydraulic oil level anyway and that was ok. Flap motors have been replaced and look to be in sync. So finally I resorted to buying a cable and using multiecuscan which has proved useful if not scary.
Multiecuscan showed the typical things are not the issue but a "Fatal" fault on the Webasto hood ecu with the DTC code "B1201 - Hydraulic circuit temperature sensor." Has anybody got experience of this fault and the solutions?
I suspect a sensor or sensor circuit fault as it's sometimes present first thing in the morning. Any info or wiring diagrams would be massively appreciated.
