Clutch Peddle Travel
I’ve recently been on a road trip round Europe in my “07” Spider 3.2 Q4 with no massive issues or problems during the hard driving 3,000 or so miles covered.
The only observation was on a particularly hot day 35 degrees after a spirited drive up a pass in the Pyrenees involving a lot of gear changes etc the clutch pedal after changing gear started to not return back fully; there was still bite, all be it with reduced travel and the car changed gear without slipping the clutch or crunching / grating gears etc just the peddle had only a few of inches travel.
After stopping for lunch the clutch returned to normal for the rest of the afternoon until a period of sustained high speed motorway cruising, again in very hot conditions when the issue returned.
I checked all fluid levels and all was OK and when the issue happened it was not every gear change as sometimes it returned as normal whilst other times it didn’t.
The following two days of the trip and prior to this the car was perfect with no issues and the clutch issue didn’t return although the driving subsequently was less spirited and the temperature cooler.
Has anybody else experienced the same ?
Has anybody any views / ideas on what may have caused this ?
I’m looking to take the car again on a trip later this summer and would like to ascertain if this is the sign of pending trouble or just one of those “Alfa things”.....
Any assistance advise gratefully received.
