Maybe this helps someone.
Recently got surprised by a "Coolant temperature exceeded" warning. When I pulled over and checked under the hood. There was a leak visible near a black plastic cover just on the front right of the engine. As with all leaks, it's not easy to tell what exactly is leaking, as there are bunch of components nearby.
A friendly forum member told me, that this might be the actual black cover leaking.
When I got in touch with the local dealer, they said they have changed quite a lot of these already. So I ordered it without actually checking if the part is defective, as it's quite involving to remove it. The part should arrive next week.
The part number for it is 71772987 (~125Eur from dealer), and seems to be a part of the redesigned 2.0 jtdm egr system (used also in other "newer" jtdm engines, like 1.6 etc.).
My car has just over 100k miles on it, and it seems a bit strange that a part like that without any real damage to it would suddenly develop a leak - I'm guessing that the plastic is just not up to the job? Anyone else experienced this problem? Any idea of the cause?
