Brera's electrics have gone down

I've recently purchased a Brera 3.2 V6 JTS Prodrive with only 18,000 on the clock. I've been happily driving it for 2,000 miles but have just experienced my first problem, which I hope isn't going to prove too serious.

Driving to the airport a week last Sunday I was held up on the M25, nose-to-tail crawling, when the engine and all electrics just cut out, twice. The first time it was a blip and the power and engine came back on within a second. Five minutes later it cut completely but did re-start straight away.

Picked the car up from long-stay parking after my week away this Sunday and got home without any recurrence. However, this morning it has cut out again after a 2 minute drive to the office, and this time I can't get any signs of life from it at all - can't lock it (except for the boot which is now locked shut), can't start it, can't get any ignition display or anything, completely 'dead'.

Has anyone got any thoughts to offer?

Sounds like a bad battery or engine earth connection, check the terminals are tight and if they are check the tightness and condition of the earth cable, its under the battery tray between the engine and the body.

Thanks guys. Job done - just a loose battery connection .... duhh!
Took a while to work out why the windows wouldn't shut afterwards though. Then I read the manual (always a good idea) and realised they need to be re-set after battery disconnect.

Excellent news, look for the easy fix first. (I should follow this advice myself)
Faith restored in the marque.
