Well it's better, but it wouldn't say completely cured. I had someone check the joints on the exhaust, all was fine. Unfortunately I haven't found anywhere local that does the smoke up the exhaust test to see if there are any weeps in the engine bay.
When I start the car and manoeuvre around the drive, the cabin does smell of fumes, so I always put recirculate button on. I drive about an hour and half yesterday and did have a mild headache, I rarely get headaches, so I'm half suspicious there's fumes coming in. I've got the return journey coming up now, so I'll see how my head is. Most of the time I have recirculate on unless it mists up.
I honestly think the thing that has made the biggest difference to my car is Diesel Rhino. It's very rare I have any smoke on cold start, any cold start hesitance has gone and the car is running really nicely.
I cycle in London every morning and night, if I get stuck in traffic, which you do, even on a bike, there are plenty of cars that give off the same smell, especially black cabs, so I've started thinking, well it's a diesel, what do you expect.
If anyone does know of a place that has the smoke up the exhaust test equipment around Herts, please let me know.
Final note- I seem to be using a fair bit of oil, so suspect turbo, maybe this is contributing.
