When I bought my S all the wheels had been subject to kerbing. Your right the wheel refurb guys cannot match the colour and I was unsuccessful in sourcing the exact colour anywhere else. What you can do is to chose a colour as close as you can, I chose a Renault met grey, it is slightly lighter than the original but that was out of choice. The refurb people I used were able to buy the base coat colour, paint all 4 wheels and let me keep what is enough paint for another two wheels, handy in the unlikely event I do a kerbing myself.
Make sure the refurb guys strip the wheels, repair, powder coat a base coat, colour coat, then finish with a powder coat gloss lacquer.
Someone said to me, "so whats so special about an Alfa Romeo then?" I told him, "If you have to ask, you wont understand".
