I have a 2010 159ti 2.0jtdm (170) with 19" wheels. The car has broken a spring on the rear offside.
I have examined the spring and it carries the colour code: white, blue, yell, yell. , which i believe is part number 50515189.
The cost of a replacement spring is around £100, and I have been advised I should replace in pairs (is this really essential?). This makes me think that for less money I could replace all the springs on the car with something like Eibach's.
Here's the rub,, Eibach and most of the other aftermarket spring manufacturers quote a suspension drop of around 35mm. I'm guessing this is based on the standard car setup and because i have the ti spec then the drop should be less than this. Without knowing the precise drop expected I am concerned that the drop could be too much since with the std setup there is not much gap tyre to arch with the 19"wheels.
I can find the spring dimensions for the Eibach from their web site, e.g. free length , number of coils etc, but I cant find any spec for the Alfa 50515189.
Does anyone have any info on this subject or has anyone swapped to Eibach springs on a ti with 19" wheels and can give me some advice
