Possible problem when hard accelerating?
I still have this problem. I did identify a slipping clutch so have had slave, clutch and dmf changed but still have this problem. I have cleaned the map sensor as it was grafted but it didn't make much difference. It is running much better since changing clutch and dmf and also much quieter. Dpf is ok, had to force a regen but since then, it's done a few and they have all been ok.
It drives ok to be honest but second gear is really short and if I put my foot down, anything above 4000rpm, when changing up gear, it looses boost immediately and I wouldn't say it lunges forward badly but it is quite bad and no other diesel car I have driven have ever done this.
What should the boost gauge do when it is at full, should it stay at full or does it drop back lower? Mine does get to max bar but then it sort of drifts down, like it's loosing pressure, I cannot hear a hiss from it though.
I don't think it will be the egr valve as it was changed September last year and only done about 5000 miles since so this should be ok? Could a coked up inlet manifold cause this problem as I am debating getting this done?
Also, don't know if this is related or not but when I purchased it, I noticed the oil was well over the max line so we changed the oil, mechanic said the oil looked awful and looked like it hadn't been changed for ages but it had been serviced this year in March, only 4000 miles ago. Anyway, changed the oil about 700 miles ago and now it looks like there is too much oil in it again. Could this be related? Any ideas greatly appreciated. It does drive ok but it's not great, it feels like something is missing or not quite working correctly but can't put my finger on it. What would make the oil level increase above max, it seems to be regenning correctly but I'm thinking it's diesel in the oil? I am checking it correctly by the way.....
What should the boost gauge do when driving and changing gear, should it go to max boost and stay there or does it drop right down when changing gear?
Could it be blocked egr?
There are a few questions in here so apologies in advance!
