Hi, I'm wanting to do both but can only afford doing one for now. My 159 is going in for a new timing belt and water pump on Monday and I can stretch to either the EGR blank and delete or the DPF bypass and remap.
Which has the biggest effect on the car?
I'm guessing it's the DPF but any advise would be great as I think my decision making is being clouded by the heart over mind.
P.S. I suppose I should be patient and wait till I have the funds to do both at the same time? As I understand it, a separate remap is required for both?
So here's what's been done....
Only a remap.
Never touched the EGR or DPF, they are as intended by Alfa.
The feel of the car now is smooth from way down low all the way up with no surges, spikes or flat spots. This is exactly what I was looking for. It pulls enough for me now with a 40 bhp increase and 60 ft/lbs.
I really feel that all this talk about drilling the DPF and blanking the EGR is mental and only attracting problems in the future from MOT failures to component failures (manifold etc)
My 159 now feels like a new car purely from a proper remap by a pro. from Angel Tuning.
