I've been following the wonderful wishbone replacement
guide, as well as using the elearn dvd manual...in the e-learn it says bolts should be replaced with wishbone...
I think I might need to do this, as if you look in the picture below I don't think the wishbone is actually holding the wheel at all... as you can see, without support, the wheel hub is far lower than it should be, and certainly far lower than it was before hand.
To support this theory, even though i've torqued them up to an excess of 77nm (the elearn says 5.4 - 6.6 + 45° daNM) (which apparently = 55nm to 66nm), i can still move the wishbone and the bushes move.
Therefore i suspect i need new bolts, but obviously i need to know the spec, i know they are m12, e18 head, but length? It's too late to pull one back out now..
Also, does anyone have any tips on preventing the ball joint from spinning while tightning the steering knuckle bolt? I've used my crowbar to put enough pressure to lock the stud 80% of the way, but there's still the last 20%
