Tyre Advice TI

Hi All

I have Dilemma

I purchased the TI a few months ago knowing the 4 Continental tyres only had a few thousand miles left on them.

The plan was to get a set of Acceleras however a few weeks ago I had a puncture and needed a tyre in a hurry (business trip!)

I purchased a Conti for the front passenger side as it matched the others at the time and the only other option was a P Zero.

I donít want to shell out £200 plus on a Conti for the driverís side front and still thinking of getting 3 Acceleras and moving the new ish conti to the back?.

Do you think this will be ok? If it was a sports car I wouldn't do it but letís face it Iím not doing track days!

Are the tread patterns similar or maybe there is another option?

NEVER mix tyre brands on the same axle (so I've been told)

Its not good practice to mix tyres but in reality if they are on the back and both have similar tread remaining you probably wont notice any difference.

Sell the Conti as a near new / part worn and by 2 x Acceleras with the proceeds to get all 4 the same, or just buy 3 x Conti's and retain the ability to go in a straight line in the wet.

General rules, don't mix types, treads, compounds etc as its not the best idea so go with either 2 + 2 the same per axle or ideally all 4 the same.

Only catch is they need collecting from hitchin or you can arrange a courier. Only want 30
Quidish a tyre.
