I don't see how I can keep this car, especially not long term anyway.
I've had it for 3 and a half years already and have had itchy feet for a while now.
I'm just not sure how long the gearbox will last once repaired.
Mine started whining at 30k from new, and I've heard of other cars going at 15k. Not great is it?
Yes, apart from the gearbox I would agree that the 2.2 is a reliable beast, but the gearbox is such a big part of the car it can't be ignored.
I think that once it's repaired I'll be constantly listening out again for anything that doesn't sound quite right
, so that's no way to enjoy a car.
All I know is that its replacement won't be nearly as good to look at, even though I have no idea what its replacement will be. That already makes me feel sick
